From Diana:
I heard descendants of Frederick Douglass read this speech aloud on radio and then listened a second time with my son. Frederick Douglass delivered the speech, “The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro” seventy-five years into the nation’s independence. His language is so strong, clear, and necessary. I stitched them so I could spend more time with them. Making words by hand is very meditative but also creates an opportunity to feel their thunder!
