"I believe reproductive autonomy is healthcare and a human right. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Roe was overturned in the Supreme Court (even harder to believe that a 50-year precedent was overruled). Most alarming, in 14 states, there are total bans on abortion—restrictions that deny people their lives and dignity. Women’s health is on the ballot this fall, and I give a BIG damn. Our vote matters, our lives matter, our health matters, and our dignity matters."
Erin Pollard is the founder of Underwater Weaving. Her basketry work explores baskets within the context of fashion, interiors, feminism, and culture today. Erin learned to weave baskets from her mother growing up in Maine. After almost two decades working as a Fashion Executive in New York Harper’s BAZAAR, goop and Vogue, she sought to reclaim her hands and began making woven art. Through sharing her work, she discovered that others were looking for an antidote to modern-day ennui and began teaching workshops. Through her studio, Underwater Weaving, she and her mother create and sell their work, partner with fashion, interiors, and hospitality brands, and bring their joy of weaving to others.
