Rachelle's Reading List

Rachelle's Reading List

Have you heard the news? We're officially opening a brick and mortar store. We may be nuts. We're probably nuts. We have no idea what we're doing. We're having the time of our lives! 382 Bleecker Street... Get ready! As part of the revamp of Bleecker, we are going to be officially opening our doors on Nov. 7th! I brought my husband Sean on to design and build our space, and surprisingly, it hasn't torn apart our marriage yet (knock on wood?). Follow along on our journey on Instagram stories and stop in on Nov. 7th to experience us IRL - can you believe it!?

Speaking of our soon-to-open store, I was really touched tonight and I'd like to share. Background, we're spending hours trying to find cool archival photographs and posters documenting past social movements to frame and have in our new store. It's SUPER hard to choose what to highlight. One of the things my husband said that I agreed with, each poster should represent someone that really put it all on the line for the sake of their cause. Of course, I'm looking at the obvious - women like Angela Davis, Gloria Steinem and even Jane Fonda. But tonight, I received this book as a "store warming gift," at dinner and I was reminded that I have to honor Jane Jacobs somewhere in the space. Without her, there'd be no Village! Related: have you see this documentary? What a woman!

P.S. Please help me if you think you have some rare and cool vintage poster I would DIE to hear from you in an email.

In other news...

Did you catch this? Tim McGraw is apparently a fan of both educating girls AND LF. Is Tim McGraw the feminist hero we've all been waiting for?!

Something else? Melissa McCarthy went on Ellen in our "Give a Damn" sweater and we were freaking out for days! I LOVE HER!!!

Who else is a fan of Fawlty Towers? Is it weird that this is the ONLY show on right now that my husband and I both agree on watching together?

I get it, there are way more pressing things to worry about than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's tour through Australia. However, if you ARE into them, or curious about why you would even care to get into them,  you MUST MUST MUST check out this instagram account - specifically the stories. I have SMT (So Many Thoughts) on it!

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie.

Get ready to feel really, really old...

On a serious note, controlling the right to live and thrive in our chosen gender identities should NOT be under the jurisdiction of our political leaders. End of story.

I was addicted to season one of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and I am counting down the days for season two. Add this to your must see!

This week I finally tackled a movie that I've been meaning to watch, "My Dinner with Andre." It took a while for me to get into it, but in the end, it left a great impression on me. Can someone do a modern take on this movie? I have some ideas...
