MEET:

Alexandra, John and Hughie

Allie Michler has that sweet, effortless style and genuinely charming presence that immediately draws you in. She’s the Director of Fashion Initiatives at Vogue, working closely with Anna Wintour and helping lead the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, shaping the next generation of American fashion. She’s also been behind the scenes of everything from Americans in Paris to getting some of the most-watched attendees ready for the Met Gala.

She’s the wife of Will Kopelman and a mother to John (3) and Hughie (4 months), and stepmom to Olive (13) and Frankie (12), balancing it all with a calm, thoughtful ease. Her life moves between Manhattan and Nantucket, and you feel that in her style, classic, slightly nostalgic, but always with a modern edge.

Allie has that rare mix of being deeply in the fashion world while still feeling totally grounded. She’s warm, effortlessly chic, and truly one of the sweetest, most natural mothers to be around.

Rachelle: Can you explain everyone's sweaters?

Allie: This is my family, so everyone that I love. Hughie, John, Olive, Frankie, Will. And John is wearing the Big Dipper because he's really into space and constellations, and Hughie's wearing the Little Dipper.

Rachelle: So cute.

Rachelle: What surprised you the most about being a mom?

Allie: I come from a family of all girls, and I have Olive and Frankie, and boys are really active, and it's just a different kind of energy, for sure.

Rachelle: Favorite thing about being a mom?

Allie: That's so hard to say.

Rachelle: It's a big question.

Allie: My favorite thing? I love to laugh and they make me laugh. They're just been so much joy, and even when you're so tired, they're such a blessing.

Rachelle: What's your fantasy five-minute escape?

Allie: Being by myself and I don't know, having a glass of wine with all my best friends.
