Rachelle: What did you get embroidered on your cashmere cardigan?

Sarah: This is so cool. I'm keeping this.

Rachelle: You're keeping it, for sure.

Sarah: This embroidery says "The Motherload," which is the title of my book, which is about him.

Rachelle: I love that.

Guy: Boring.

Rachelle: What's your five-minute escape fantasy from being a mom?

Sarah: All I have is five minutes?

Rachelle: Mm-hmm.

Guy: Okay, well, or just your survival hack.

Sarah: Okay. Sneaking away for a mani, mani pedi.

Rachelle: What's something that you really like about your mom?

Guy: Uh.

Sarah: You better be able to answer that.

Guy: Uh.

Sarah: Do I feed you? Do I keep you alive? Do I make a good steak?

Guy: Um, you let me play video games.

Sarah: Ha. Once in a while, once in a blue moon.

Rachelle: What's your favorite NYC day?

Sarah: My dream day in New York would be to wake up and walk with my kids to get a coffee at The Elk on Mott Street. I would get the honey cinnamon cappuccino. I am addicted. I think cinnamon's, like, better than chocolate. Then I would take them to the park, we would all go out to brunch at The Waverly Inn and then he would go skateboarding and she and I would go shopping.

We would all meet up at McNally Jackson. We would all get new books, and then we would go to Bar Pitti for dinner.

Rachelle: I love that.

Sarah: Bump into you guys.

Rachelle: Pitti is the best.

Rachelle: What surprised you the most about motherhood?

Sarah: It's a different part of your brain that you have to use, I think, than work or other things that I've been passionate about in my life, and it teaches you so much patience.

Rachelle: Mm.

Sarah: It's, so good for you to use that part of your brain.

Rachelle: What's your favorite thing about being a mom?

Sarah: Um, these two are amazing, and I love watching them become people. They're, like, so impressive. They're so much more advanced than I ever was at either of their ages.
