"As a perk of my first job, I got to sign my name on the sheetrock of the top floor of One World Trade Center. Even though you can't see it, I like to think I'll be a small part of that building forever."

What woman in your life has been the greatest source of inspiration to you? My sister Mia - She greets the world with such a courageous kindness and curiosity. She challenges me to keep an open mind and embrace new people and frames of thinking.

When do you feel like the strongest version of yourself? When I’m dancing.

How do you hope to inspire the next generation of women? I hope I can demonstrate that resilience is more powerful than perfection.

If you could spend an afternoon with any woman past or present — who would it be and what would you ask them? My grandmother, Stella, who died when I was a teenager. She grew up Jewish in Poland and barely escaped the concentration camps when she was fourteen, before building a new life in the U.S. As a child, I remember her home was filled with warmth, joy, and imagination - not to mention animals! If she saw a struggling creature outside she couldn’t resist taking it in. I would ask her how she maintained her gentleness and generosity after experiencing so much evil.
