I know my reading list emails are supposed to be fun, light and "cultural," a respite from the rest of the hard news hitting you, but I just don't think I can do it this week. I'm too upset. And, I'm pretty sure I know when I reached my breaking point too... It's one thing to have our President be the laughing stock of the entire world, it's a whole other thing to watch in horror as the (mostly white male) Republicans in control of our lives, rush to secure a lifetime appointment into our highest office. That that nominee is someone that now has FIVE sexual assault allegations against him, that our own President is not only defending him but vilifying the victims, that our teenagers are watching all of this in terror (because if a Supreme Court Justice isn't held accountable for his actions at 17, why should they be right?), IT'S ENOUGH TO LOOSE YOUR MIND!!  There's only so much one can take. And, I'm at my breaking point. I want all of them, McConnell, Trump, and every Republican in Congress who has supported this joke of a man, to be kicked to the curb. I want Americans to come together and agree that these values are not what we hold in our hearts and minds, that this is NOT the landscape we want to raise our children in.

I want to end this by reminding you that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford did not ask for this or want this. She isn't putting her life on the line for fame or for the Democrats. She's doing this because she is a proud American and she wants to live in a country that values women. This week all women of sexual assault (and it's a majority not a minority), are having to relive their personal traumas.

#believesurvivors #ibelieveher THANK YOU DR. FORD!

And now, because I'm also running a company and none of the above was planned for this week's email, below is part of what I was planning on sending out. Please know that it's hard for me to do both (have fun making things while also being outraged with what's happening in this country), but I think it's necessary for all of us to take a break now and then from this. xo Rachelle
