My late and great friend, Maria Gallagher, used to say “don’t worry, be happening” to capture the vibe of our other dear friend, Serge Becker. This became a familiar phrase in our little circle of friends, used in reference to all things groovy. For me, it was also a reminder to let go a little and allow space for the magic to happen.
So often, I find myself swept up in “must dos” and “should have dones,” that I forget how important it is to stop worrying about what other people think and, instead, take a walk on the wild side–shake off the status quo and just be, even for just a little bit.
Be present. Be groovy. Be happening.
