remember the human toll of nuclear weapon use. And as survivors pass away, it’s up to
us to share their stories so their memories live on.
Our voices can make a difference. At the peak of the nuclear arms race in the 1980s,
cultural leaders, activists, and regular people demanded change. World leaders listened
and chose diplomacy over escalation, eventually eliminating nearly 80 percent of the
world’s nuclear weapons.
This collection is an opportunity to call for a world free from the threat of nuclear
catastrophe—with a mix of humor and heart—so no one ever suffers the horrors of
nuclear weapons again.
